Soulfire turned off the computer after she had posted the note to all students and staff. She did not use the computer often, but it had its uses. Like when wanting to reach the whole school with one simple message. She pushed the chair back to look at Dayenne, who sat on the couch working on her archery equipment. Some of it had been damaged during their stay at the mountains, though the woman had assured her it was nothing serious.
"I did it," the witch finally said in a soft voice. "I told you that maybe I wanted to show my monthly rituals to those interested, right? I just posted a note to inform them they could come if they were interested.
OOC: Mostly Dayenne only, but I guess if anyone wants to interrupt they're free to do so. RP-ing with yourself isn't always that much fun. XD;

Another note to all students and stuff
Sep. 7th, 2007 | 08:18 pm
I do not know if there will be much interest for it, but for those who have always felt close to the moon and wish to explore its power can come on the night of full moon where I will show certain rituals and ways to access moon power. I have lived a life closely tied to the moon for many years now and I'd gladly show the basics to anyone interested.
If you have any interest, let me know it before the next full moon.

OOC: I'll just skip the whole "Go to the house in the forest" part, since I doubt that'll be very interesting. So this'll be Thursday morning. ;)
Early as usual, since she didn't require that much sleep anymore, Soulfire stood before the window in their shared bedroom. Dayenne was still asleep and as far as she knew Liz and Katelyn as well. It was nice quiet here, the witch thought. And the scenery was beautiful as well. There were trees everywhere, except around the house, which was mostly grass with flowers. She'd already seen some rabbits and deer, and now also the first few birds who'd just woken up. It was still misty outside, though it promised to be cleared up before the sun was fully up.
Knowing that it wouldn't take long before the ranger woke up, Soulfire moved quietly to the kitchen where she began to prepare breakfast. Although the house had all the luxuries of modern times, there was a hearth as well. With a single gesture and a few words, the logs in the hearth started to burn, giving a warm and cheerful light to the room. The witch hung a cauldron above it, much like one would see in fairytales, although this one was filled with plain water instead of some cursed potion. A second cauldron soon followed - neither of them were extremely large, just large enough for four people - and this one was filled with milk, flour and other ingredients needed for porridge.
Knowing that both the water for tea and the porridge needed time to heat up, Soulfire returned to the real kitchen, where she cut thick slabs of ham, bread and cheese. They went into the oven of the kitchen; the ham and cheese on the bread and with the intention to toast the bread, turn the ham a little crispier and melt the cheese. As a final touch, the witch got some potatoes to slice them up and bake them in oil and herbs. All in all, it was a rather large meal, but Soulfire knew that Dayenne planned to go out into the forest the whole day. One needed a good breakfast to survive on the rest of the day.

Out for a walk in the moonlight
Feb. 28th, 2007 | 12:34 am
Soulfire pulled the blanket up to Dayenne's chin to make sure the other woman wouldn't get it cold. She smiled as she looked down at the peaceful face of Dayenne. Soulfire knew Dayenne was strong and powerful during the day. But at night, her features were softer, more vulnerable. It was a sight she'd seen quite a few times during the past several months, but it was one Soulfire couldn't get enough of.
"Sleep well, dear," the witch murmured to the sleeping woman while she pushed gently some hair out of her face. "I won't be gone long, just a few hours to collect some local herbs. But don't worry, nothing will happen to me."
She placed one light kiss on Dayenne's forehead before gathering her belongings; her staff, a small but sharp knife, and a pouch for the herbs she'd collect tonight. It had to be tonight. These herbs grew only at this time of the year and the best time to harvest them was during full moon.
Soulfire put on a cloak; despite the many comforts of a coat, the witch still preferred to wear a cloak. She knew her teacher always wore cloaks and this was her way to remember her teacher in the fast and modern times. All set and ready, the witch then proceeded to make her way quietly outside the school to look around at the school's garden and surroundings for the herbs she wanted.
OOC: Open to anyone who's up at night, and forwarded to Saturday 3 March. Because according to the sites, that's when it's full moon at New Hampshire. =P

Did you want to join us for breakfast, Daatu?
Dec. 25th, 2006 | 01:30 pm
mood: worried
It was still early on the morning of Christmas when Soulfire went down to the first floor. Her bare feet made hardly any sound, but the professor was certain many of the students were still soundly asleep. She knew, however, that one student might be still awake or already awake.
She stopped before the room where Daatu Lonehill remained. The girl's last post - however short it had been - had concerned the witch greatly and she hoped she could do something to cheer the girl up. While no Seer or Slayer and thus unable to sense what other people felt, Soulfire could still feel a kind of loneliness coming from Daatu. As if the girl didn't feel she fit in with the rest of the group. As if she didn't really had a place to stay. It was that feeling that gave the witch the brilliant idea to invite the girl for Christmas breakfast.
"Ruby? Can you look if Daatu's already awake?" Soulfire asked softly at the small fairy.
The red fairy rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yes, I can look if she's already awake. I'll be right back." Ruby turned invisible, both in sight and sense, because she knew the girl was a Slayer and she didn't want to alert Daatu about her presence. She made herself even more tiny with a simple spell and wriggled through the keyhole, looking for the silver-haired Slayer.
OOC: In case it wasn't obvious yet, open to Daatu alone. =P

A note on the board
Aug. 8th, 2006 | 06:47 pm
Hello to everyone,
I thought a small note of introduction might be appreciated. I heard something about a 'computer', but I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with these modern things, which is why I wrote a note by hand and posted it here.
I am Soulfire and I will be the new teacher of Fundamentals of Divination. Advanced Divination will be done by Mr. Kaiba, I believe. For the rest, I am a witch and I have a familiar - though she's more like a friend. She's a faerie and quite mischevious at times. You didn't have to say that! Her name is Ruby.
I hope all the students who have taken Fundamentals of Divination will like the subject.
Greetings,
Soulfire

The arrival of yet another new professor
Aug. 6th, 2006 | 09:49 pm
mood: tired
It was late afternoon when Soulfire arrived at the school that was called St. Catherine's. Although she could fly - or use any other kind of transport - she came on foot and carried a large, wooden staff with her, which she used to lean on. It had several strange markings on it and a deep red jewel on the top.
"So this is that all-girls school you're going to work?" A small creature had popped into the air several inches before Soulfire's face. Its hair was red and curly, just like Soulfire's, and wings and clothes of red and brown colours. "Doesn't seem to be that impressing." The faerie sniffed. "But they do know how to make a lot of noise."
Soulfire smiled. "You're complaining again, Ruby," she said calmly. "As usual. Let's go inside and see if we can find someone who can help us."
"Help?" Ruby the faerie laughed. "You, help? I never thought I'd ever see that."
"Be nice," the witch murmured as she walked through the gates of St. Catherine's School and looked around for someone to ask where the teachers were supposed to stay.
OOC: Open to anyone. Big surprise. =P
